/PRZWT/Beijing, February 20, 2024 - At the NAMM2024, legendary studio equipment specialist Neumann Norman introduced a feature upgrade to the MT 48 audio interface released last year - the Monitor Mission, which transforms the MT 48 into a freely configurable monitor controller. In addition to mono and stereo, the Monitor Mission can handle surround sound formats (such as 5.1) and much-sought-after immersive audio formats (such as Dolby Atmos 7.1.4). This opens up a whole new application field for the MT 48, especially when it comes to mixing and mastering.
The Monitor Mission provides flexible bass management and sophisticated calibration to adjust the frequency and time domain characteristics of the speaker based on the listening position. Its downmix function supports monitoring multi-channel audio in mono or stereo mode.
The Monitor Mission offers a variety of connectivity options, allowing users to connect studio monitors via S/PDIF or ADAT in a variety of ways, both analog and digital. It can even combine multiple connection types on a speaker cluster. Systems up to 7.1.4 can be achieved with four analog monitor outputs and an external ADAT converter. In addition, the built-in AES67 interface allows connection to highly professional multi-channel converters, such as the Merging Hapi MKII and/or the AES67 version of the Norman studio monitor. In this way, users can achieve almost any number of channels.

Price and delivery time
Monitor Mission does not need to be downloaded and will be included directly in the 1.6.x version of the MT 48 firmware released in February. Monitor Mission requires activation with a separate software key. Users who complete MT 48 product registration on Norman's official website before July 1, 2024 will receive an activation key for Monitor Mission for free.
