On July 6th, on the occasion of the Olympic Games, I am the "Little Dolphin". The 2024 Minhang District Summer Swimming Open Competition and Meilong Town Youth Swimming Competition started in the swimming pool of Meilong Town Cultural and Sports Center.
This qualifying competition was carefully organized for the characteristics of youth competition. There were 4 groups and 16 events for young swimming enthusiasts, including the first and second grade group, the third and fourth grade group, the fifth and sixth grade group, and the junior high school group. It attracted nearly 200 young swimmers to gather together and compete in swimming skills. It actively created a good atmosphere of "safe swimming, happy swimming, healthy swimming", "everyone loves swimming, and everyone strives to be a'little dolphin '".
With the referee's order, the game officially started. I saw the little players quickly kick their legs, stroke their arms, and stretch forward... The pool was instantly stirred by countless waves; in the track, the players competed with speed and skills, like "flying fish".
After four hours of competition, Zhou Menglin finally won the junior high school women's 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle championships. She said: "I have loved playing with water since I was a child, and I am very happy to win the prize this time. I hope to strengthen my practice in the future, continue to work hard to participate in higher-level competitions, and strive to win more championships."
At the final award ceremony, the organizing committee of the event awarded certificates, medals, and customized Little Dolphin medals to the young athletes who achieved outstanding results, and awarded certificates and souvenirs to all the participating athletes, praising the players for constantly challenging themselves and breaking through the limits in the competition.
In recent years, the sports department of Meilong Town has attached great importance to the popularization of swimming among young people, and actively organized public welfare lectures on anti-drowning safety knowledge and swimming qualification competitions. Through the combination of training competitions and "setting up a competitive platform", it has built a platform for young swimming enthusiasts to demonstrate their sports skills, further cultivated students' interest in swimming, and discovered and cultivated more excellent swimming reserve talents.
