/PRZWT/ Recently, Schneider Electric, the global leader in energy technology, announced that its Wuhan factory has been awarded the "Talent Beacon Factory" by the World Economic Forum (WEF). As one of the three talent beacon factories worldwide and the first talent beacon factory of Schneider Electric globally, the Wuhan factory has successfully established a talent cultivation and empowerment model suitable for the digital age, setting a replicable and scalable innovative benchmark for the global intelligent manufacturing sector.

"Lighthouse Factories" represent the highest level of digitalization and green manufacturing in the current world. Initiated and selected by the World Economic Forum and McKinsey, they bring together the world's leading factories and leading forces in value chains. As a new evaluation dimension centered on talent transformation, "Talent Lighthouse Factories" aims to recognize outstanding enterprises that have implemented advanced solutions in key areas such as work planning and safety, talent planning, recruitment and onboarding, talent cultivation and employment effectiveness, and have had a transformative impact on the employee team.

With the development of the times, "lighthouse factories" are leading the manufacturing industry through a profound transformation, from technological exploration to institutionalization of the transformation. Therefore, higher requirements have been imposed on the comprehensive quality and continuous learning ability of talents, and a systematic talent system is needed for support. Mourad Tamoud, the Chief Supply Chain Officer of Schneider Electric, said: "The core of the fourth industrial revolution lies not only in technological innovation, but also in preparing employees to apply cutting-edge technologies. Our Wuhan 'talent lighthouse factory' provides a comprehensive and replicable practical blueprint for those who are committed to building an employee team with resilience, agility, and a future-oriented mindset."

The Wuhan factory is a key node in Schneider Electric's global supply chain and a strategic base for its industrial digital transformation. Over the past five years, the automation level of the Wuhan factory has significantly increased by 55%, and the product portfolio has expanded by 239%. However, the rapid technological iteration has also led to an increasingly prominent shortage of key talents, which hinders the further release of production efficiency and innovation capabilities. To break through the transformation bottleneck, Schneider Electric actively implements the "people-oriented" concept, collaborates with external ecosystems to create a full-cycle talent development system, and empowers people with advanced tools such as AI to achieve a deep integration of employee growth and value creation:

• In the field of talent reserve: Schneider Electric has launched digital apprenticeship programs with 11 vocational colleges, established AI laboratories and set up special scholarships, thereby building a sustainable pipeline for skill transfer from the campus to the workplace.

• In terms of skill improvement: By leveraging AI technology, we accurately identify the skill gaps of employees and provide customized training programs and career development plans. This has enabled the readiness rate of employees' skills to rapidly increase from 20% to 76%, driving 56% of employees to achieve skill enhancement, increasing the proportion of senior experts from 35% to 76%, and shortening the new employee onboarding training period from 75 days to 15 days.

• At the level of work allocation: Deploy a "people-oriented" intelligent shift scheduling system to precisely match employees' skills with their individual needs, achieving dynamic balance and intelligent allocation of workloads;

• In the field of efficient operation and maintenance: Through intelligent guidance and mentorship pairing mechanisms, the efficiency of fault detection has been significantly improved, the equipment repair cycle has been shortened, and the technician turnover rate has been reduced to 6%, while the overall equipment efficiency loss has decreased by 18%.

• In terms of innovation empowerment: By leveraging AI technology to handle repetitive tasks, engineers' energy can be freed up to focus on high-value innovations, helping to shorten the product introduction cycle from 36 months to 12 months.

Zhang Kaipeng, Senior Vice President of Schneider Electric and the Head of Global Supply Chain in China, said: "In the face of the new quality transformation and the digital and intelligentization wave, Schneider Electric has always adhered to the core strategy of integrating technological innovation, people-oriented approach, and ecological collaboration. It has built a lean, resilient, efficient and green modern supply chain system. The Wuhan factory of Schneider Electric was awarded the 'Talent Beacon Factory', which is a direct manifestation of this core strategy and provides a model for global intelligent manufacturing transformation."

With the addition of the Schneider Electric Wuhan factory, the number of Schneider Electric's global "lighthouse factories" has increased to nine. In China, Schneider Electric has three lighthouse factories. Among them, the Shanghai Putuo factory has been rated as an "end-to-end lighthouse factory", the Wuxi factory as a "sustainable lighthouse factory", and the Wuhan factory as a "talent lighthouse factory". These three factories have set development benchmarks in terms of production efficiency, supply chain resilience, sustainable development, and talent empowerment, further demonstrating Schneider Electric's firm determination and comprehensive strength in deeply engaging in China and serving the transformation of China's manufacturing industry.
