As one of the important components of data center energy consumption, servers with higher energy efficiency can not only effectively reduce energy consumption, but also better help to achieve the goal of carbon peak carbon neutrality.

Inspur K1 Power's unique workload dynamic optimization frequency energy-saving mode can better support the construction of green and low-carbon data center.

Inspur K1 Power server uses EnergyScale technology to realize multiple power management modes for servers, including a new variable processor frequency mode that can provide significant performance improvements beyond the static nominal frequency. Specific energy saving modes are as follows:

Disable all modes: Disable power saving mode. The processor clock frequency is set to a nominal value, and the power used by the system remains at a nominal level.

Enable static mode: Reduces power consumption by reducing the processor clock frequency and voltage to a fixed value. This option also reduces the power consumption of the system while still providing predictable performance.

Enable Dynamic performance mode: enables processor frequency to vary according to processor usage. During medium or high frequency usage, the processor frequency is set to the maximum allowable value, which may be higher than the nominal frequency.

Enable Maximum performance mode: Sets the processor frequency to a fixed value that can be specified. You can set maximum limits on the system processor frequency and power consumption.

The following two figures show the CPU frequency range of Inspur K1 Power server in different energy saving modes, and the influence of different modes of the current mainstream POWER9 server on CPU performance output and energy consumption:

At the same time, PowerVM hardware virtualization can further help save energy. As shown in the following figure, after PowerVM virtualization consolidation, server utilization increased to 70% and power consumption decreased from 8KW to 4KW.

In addition, with the improvement of the core computing power of the host, the configuration required for the same workload is lower and the carbon emission is lower, as shown below:
