Guangzhou, Aug 04, 2022 -- Global optical giant Leica Camera and Chinese home appliance giant Hisense Group signed a technology cooperation agreement in Munich to jointly accelerate the application and popularization of laser TV in the global market, German media reported on Aug 3. Leica Camera China's official Weibo account also confirmed on the afternoon of August 3 that it had reached a technical cooperation with Hisense to launch its first laser TV, Leica Cine 1, which was announced to be on display at the IFA Berlin in early September.

It is understood that in recent years, domestic science and technology brands often cooperate with traditional optical manufacturers, in order to achieve their own brand or technical level of promotion. Huawei, Xiaomi and Leica,OPPO and Hasselbland, VIVO and Carl Zeiss, for example, all put the logos of these traditional optical brands on their latest flagship phones to highlight the powerful photo performance. What's more, DJI bought Hasselblad, the prestigious Swedish maker of medium-format cameras, in a direct cash injection, and now even Hasselblad's offline stores have DJI's logo in front of them.

Looking around the world, there are many similar cases in international technology companies. In addition to long-standing partnerships between SONY and Carl Zeiss and Panasonic and Leica in consumer cameras, there is no shortage of such alliances in the industrial sector. For example, ASML of the Netherlands, which dominates the global market for high-end lithography machines, supplies the core optical components of its lithography machines from Carl Zeiss.

The Hisense and Leica cooperation is more like the second situation. From the perspective of product structure, laser TV contains three core components: laser optical machine, DLP chip and short focus optical lens. Hisense, founded in 1969, is the founder of the global standard system for laser display technology, while Leica is the pioneer of 35mm cameras and enjoys a reputation in the field of optics for more than 100 years. According to the joint announcement, the upcoming Leica Cine 1 laser TV will be created by the two giants using the best of their respective technologies. It will be great value for fans of both brands and set a new benchmark for the display industry.

It is understood that the panchromatic laser technology independently developed by Hisense has the characteristics of extremely accurate color and wide color gamut coverage, which can be compared to professional-grade laser cinema. Panchromatic laser technology is also the most healthy display technology for eye protection due to the consideration of eliminating the short wave blue light harmful to human eyes at the bottom of the technology. Xu Zuyan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, has repeatedly supported laser TV and predicted that laser display will become the mainstream of the next generation of display products, and that Chinese laser TV is expected to lead the world. Based on this, Leica chooses to cooperate with Hisense to launch the first laser TV, which is the first step into the field of home entertainment through panchromatic laser technology. Indeed, it is a hero who knows a hero.

Recently, Hisense's young fashion brand Vidda launched the world's first 4K panchromatic laser projection Vidda C1. It carries Hisense panchromatic laser technology for the first time in the field of home intelligent projection, which brings intelligent projection into the era of picture quality in one step. It not only has an ultra-high color gamut of 202% BT.709 and ultra-high color accuracy of ΔE≈0.9, but also has a healthy eye protection feature of zero harmful blue light, which is very popular among families with children. And at the price of 6999 yuan to achieve true 4K ultra high-definition definition, is like a shock bomb in the industry. The Vidda C1 quickly became a tech hit with "the same price and twice the performance", and both experienced projection players and first-time laser projection users were impressed by its color quality.
