Foshan Lighting attaches great importance to the application and protection of intellectual property rights. At the beginning of 2021, the Intellectual property Management Branch Center was set up. According to the actual internal needs and conditions, the intellectual property Center has formulated and implemented the internal patent management system, striving to build the intellectual property Center into a professional platform for optimizing the internal intellectual property resources and perfecting the market-oriented mechanism of technological innovation. Strengthening the application of intellectual property rights and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements; In 2022, it will be selected into the construction project of Foshan high-value Patent Cultivation and Distribution Center to further promote the deep integration of regional high-value patents with innovation chain, industrial chain, capital chain and talent chain.
In addition, Foshan Lighting always aims at the forefront of lighting core technology, and actively carries out industry-university-research cooperation on new materials and new technologies with research institutes such as Fudan University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Deepsea Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, so as to continuously strengthen its R&D and innovation strength. In addition, a variety of intellectual property protection methods are used to effectively protect the results of cooperation. We carry out internal preresearch projects and internal and external cooperation projects of industry-university-research, focusing on the research and development of deep-sea laser lighting, high-power fishing lights, fresh lights, visible light photocatalysts, plant lighting, healthy light environment, etc. The patent analysis and layout were deeply involved in the project, including the feasibility research of intellectual property before the project was initiated, the follow-up mining and retrieval of the scheme generated in the project, and the completion of patent submission before the end of the project. In particular, guided by the patent layout, the research and development project was carried out horizontally while the normal vertical development, thus achieving the efficient integration of patent layout and project development.
Patent, as an important carrier of intellectual property, reflects an enterprise's innovation ability and core competitiveness. In the first half of 2022, Foshan Lighting applied for 163 patents, including 4 PCTS, 21 invention patents, 66 utility models and 72 appearance patents. The total number of patent applications increased by 23% year on year, and the number of invention patent applications increased by 40% year on year. Technological innovation drives the enterprise to develop well. The patent layout aiming at core industrial technologies builds technical barriers for companies and forms a multi-dimensional and high-density patent protection network.
